We are a a not-for-profit multimedia art organisation, our approach is deeply rooted in mind-body practices fostering mindfulness, resilience and interconnectedness. We believe that through imagination and artistic expression, individuals can access a shared experience of freedom.
OUR STORY
Cameye Arts CIC was founded by Ana de Matos – a queer filmmaker, visual anthropologist, yogi and advocate for social change. The idea came about during a series of filmmaking workshops Ana was delivering at the Stratford Youth Zone.
The project was born from seeing how the spark of imagination, creativity and support – can have such a deep effect and long lasting resonance on people.
Since its inception in June 2023, Cameye Arts is cementing its roots and creating sustainable foundations from which to grow. We are a Newham based business currently working with our local community, but we also have plans to blossom into other parts of London.
Our Mission and Approach
The Cameye Arts mission is to re-connect individuals with the creative spark that they have inside themselves – which brings us into connection with the transformative power of our own imagination and creativity. We invite people to tap into this spark, as way of empowering themselves by cultivating a profound sense of freedom and by expanding the boundaries of what is possible.
Our approach is deeply rooted in mind-body practices fostering mindfulness, resilience and interconnectedness. This foundation enriches the creative process, allowing participants and clients to engage with their senses and minds. We believe that through imagination and artistic expression, individuals can access a shared experience of freedom.
Our approach involves a strategy that is focused on creating multimedia art works, audio-visual storytelling, archive for heritage purposes, digital strategy for impact measurement of organisations and participatory events.
Our team consists of professional artists, dancers, musicians filmmakers, anthropologists, yogis – we want to deliver a toolbox of creative and mind-body practices, which can enable people to become more focused and conscious – as a consequence to have more impact both individually and collectively.
